The game was truly epic. The battle for earth at the end was my favorite part of the whole game. The atmosphere of it all felt very chaotic and like shit was hitting the fan. The ending on the other hand.. I wasn't sold on. While I know the masses hate how it ended I on the other hand thought it was fine but it just felt out of place. And I think most people got upset because maybe they were expecting a happy ending. The only true gripe I have about the endings is there all the same with different color explosion with minor variation. I think they could have done a better job visualizing the outcomes differently.
Indeed. There were so many moments that captured the scale of the conflict, and the size of the struggle the 3 games had put you, and the rest of the galaxy through. All of the little touches, the conversations you overhear, the development of the characters. Masterfully executed. Pair that with an amazing score. God damn what a soundtrack.
The ending, post illusive man, for me was like the last 10 minutes of A.I. You know, after Haley Joel Osment gets pulled out of the ocean by robot aliens who recreate his "mother" for 5 minutes, then kill them both? It was forced, but I won't forget the few hours of clawing my way to that point, and how worth it they were.
Just gonna throw that out there as a statement about game developers. I'll summarize their 3 main releases over the last decade and a half as briefly as I can.
Omikron: The Nomad Soul - open world rpg fps fighting simulator with David Bowie. (It is not as cool as you think it might be)
Wooohooo. Dark Souls coming to PC August 24th announced today. I can't wait. A previously released action rpg for consoles only. Rave reviews and one of the hardest games you will ever play(so they and many others claim). I never got a chance to play it because I don't own a console system( I prefer pc gaming). I actually considered buying a ps3 just to play this game. I can't wait! preparetodie.com
Demon souls was the most brutally punishing, yet fair game in a very long time. With a lot of amazingly cruel tricks played on the player with regards to multiplayer.
Dark souls is all that and more. Prepare to break a few controllers while playing, because when you talk about unforgiving game mechanics and tight controls, it's hard to match what this series accomplishes.
